No. 2, 3, 4: Books Read Aloud

No. 2: Marley: A Dog Like No Other, by John Grogan.
  • This is the intermediate version of Marley & Me. The kids throughly enjoyed it. R.C. desperately wanted to read it aloud to the class when I was having trouble reading, due to the tears, He had read it on his own (he couldn't put it down!). Another boy cried a LOT as we got to the last couple chapters.

No. 3: Wringer, by Jerry Spinelli.

  • A reread for me. A good read for discussing bullies and doing what's right. Also, animal rights.

No. 4: George Washington's Socks, by Evira Woodruff.

  • A good time-travel, historical fiction mix. Gives a good kid perspective on the Revolutionary War.
