Day 2 - Exploring the Greentown Ravines (sort of)

One of my goals for the summer is to re-read Dandelion Wine, since we weren't able to read it with the students this school year. There is a newish place in Waukegan called the Greentown Tavern, and I got to go there yesterday. Turns out it is right by the ravine. I was late for the meeting, so I didn't get to take pictures until dusk. When I did get a chance to look, I got to see some real treats.

Treat 1: a little duck family swimming along... (too dark to get a good picture)

Treat 2: a gray heron flying right over me, along the water, and into the tunnel...amazing!!
Treat 3: the view!!
